Sterra Titan — Screen Shows L3 or Blinks SlowlyUpdated an hour ago

If your Sterra Titan control panel is displaying the code L3 or the screen lights are blinking slowly, your machine's built-in climate safety sensors have been activated.

This specific alert triggers when the ambient room temperature rises above 45°C (113°F) for more than 30 seconds. Because the Sterra Titan pulls moisture from the air using a refrigeration system, operating in extreme heat causes severe strain on the internal motor. To protect the unit from thermal damage, the smart safety board automatically enters a protective standby mode and pauses extraction.

The Cooling & Reset Process

Because the internal cooling coils and compressor have been exposed to high heat, a quick power cycle will not clear the code. The system requires a combination of a cooler environment and an extended rest period to safely drop its core temperatures.

Cool Down the Surrounding Room:

Turn off the machine and unplug it from the wall. If the Titan is placed near a hot window, in an unventilated balcony area, near a cooking stove, or in a laundry room, move the machine to a cooler, well-ventilated space. If possible, switch on a fan or air conditioner in the room to help lower the ambient air temperature well below 45°C.

Let the Machine Rest for 60 Minutes:

Leave the Sterra Titan completely unplugged and turned off for a full 60 minutes. This extended hour-long pause is mandatory—it gives the heavy internal compressor and sensor lines enough time to shed trapped heat and return safely to a normal baseline temperature.

Plug Back In and Power On:

Once the hour has passed and the room is at a comfortable temperature, plug the power cord firmly back into the wall outlet and turn the unit ON. The internal computer will execute a fresh boot scan, see that the temperature is safe, clear the L3 code, and resume normal water production.

What to Do If the Code Won't Clear

For the vast majority of users, dropping the room temperature and allowing a 60-minute rest completely resolves the alert.

However, if you have verified that the room is comfortably cool, waited the full hour, and the L3 code or slow blinking continues immediately upon boot-up, the internal thermal sensor may have experienced an electrical error. Please do not attempt to dismantle the unit. Instead, contact our Customer Support Team.

  1. Log in to our Customer Support Portal.

  2. Submit a support ticket describing the issue.

  3. Attach a short video (at least 1 minute long) showing the error happening. This will help our technical team diagnose and resolve the issue much faster for you.

📌 What to tell us: Let our agent know: "My Sterra Titan is showing an L3 error. I have moved it to a cool room and kept it turned off and unplugged for a full 60 minutes, but the error code will not clear." We will instantly fast-track an urgent on-site technician visit to inspect the sensor arrays and get your machine running perfectly again!
