Sterra Titan — Fan is Not SpinningUpdated an hour ago

Here is the improved version formatted specifically as a clear, educational, and scannable Help Center article.

What was changed & why:

A customer noticing that the "fan is not spinning" or that the machine "isn't turning air moisture into drinking water" can be highly confusing. This rewrite bridges that gap by explaining why the fan stops: the Titan has a smart standby mode that triggers if the room is already dry or if the settings are misconfigured. It clarifies the link between fan activity and water production, giving them clear, actionable steps to get the air flowing and the water producing again.

Fix: Fan Is Not Spinning & Not Producing Water (Sterra Titan)

The Sterra Titan uses a high-powered fan to pull ambient air across internal cooling coils, extracting moisture and transforming it into pure drinking water. If you notice that the fan is not spinning and the machine has stopped making water, it does not mean the motor is broken.

Instead, the Titan’s smart energy-saving sensors have put the fan into Standby Mode. This happens automatically when the machine calculates that the surrounding air is too dry, or that the current settings don't require water extraction.

The fan will turn off if:

  • The room's natural humidity is too low.

  • The machine's target humidity setting is set higher than the actual humidity in the room.

  • Open windows or doors are letting in dry air, causing the sensors to pause the fan.

How to Wake Up the Fan and Resume Water Production

To jumpstart the fan and get your Titan actively extracting drinking water again, follow these two quick environmental adjustments:

Lower the Humidity Target:.

Check the current room humidity percentage displayed on your Titan's screen. Go into your control panel settings and lower the target humidity setting to at least 3% below that current room reading. This instantly tells the computer that the air is humid enough to harvest, waking up the fan.

Close All Doors and Windows:T

Ensure all exterior doors and windows in the room are completely closed. Leaving them open lets moisture escape and brings in unpredictable air currents, which can trick the Titan's sensors into shutting the fan back down.

Important Environment Tips 💡

  • Avoid Heavy Air Conditioning: Air conditioners are natural dehumidifiers—they pull moisture out of the air. If the Titan is placed right next to a strong AC unit, the room may become too dry for the Titan's fan to trigger.

  • Give it Time: Once the fan starts spinning, it can take a few hours of continuous operation to harvest enough microscopic air moisture to see noticeable water collecting in the internal storage tanks.

Still Not Spinning?

If you have set the humidity target significantly below the room's actual humidity level, closed all windows, and the fan still refuses to spin after 10 minutes, the internal fan motor or control board may need a hands-on look.

Please reach out to our Customer Support Team right away. Let our agent know: "My Sterra Titan fan is not spinning, and lowering the humidity settings did not kickstart the motor." We will immediately fast-track a technician visit to inspect your fan assembly!

  1. Log in to our Customer Support Portal.

  2. Submit a support ticket describing the issue.

  3. Attach a short video (at least 1 minute long) showing the error happening. This will help our technical team diagnose and resolve the issue much faster for you.
