Sterra Sun — C8 ErrorUpdated 2 days ago
If your Sterra Sun display panel shows a C8 error code, the system’s safety sensors have detected an internal temperature conflict. This usually happens if the machine has been running continuously for days without a break, causing the cooling components to overheat, or if the rear air vents are blocked.
Follow these 3 simple steps to reset your system and clear the error:
Step 1: Check the Operating Timeline & Temperature
Has your Sterra Sun been running non-stop 24/7?
Place your hand gently on the side panels or top casing of the machine. Does the body of the purifier feel unusually warm or hot to the touch?
Step 2: Perform a Complete Thermal Reset
If the machine feels warm, its internal compressor needs to rest and depressurize to clear the error.
Turn the power switch OFF and completely unplug the Sterra Sun from the wall outlet.
Leave the machine entirely disconnected and untouched for at least 2 full hours. This allows the internal sensors and cooling loops to return to baseline room temperature.
While waiting, use a dry cloth to wipe away any dust from the rear air intake vents to ensure maximum airflow when restarted.
Step 3: Re-power and Test
After 2 hours have passed, plug the unit back directly into the wall outlet and turn it on.
Monitor the display screen. If the C8 code disappears, your machine was simply overworked and is now safe to use normally.
Still seeing the C8 Error after resting?
If the C8 error code flashes on your screen immediately after the 2-hour rest period, or if the machine's body wasn't warm to begin with, it indicates an internal sensor failure or a refrigerant leak. Do not attempt to open the machine
