Sterra S — Noisy or Loud Sound from the MachineUpdated an hour ago
It is completely normal to hear a low, gentle hum from your Sterra S when it is actively chilling or heating water. However, if the machine suddenly starts making a loud buzzing, rattling, or heavy whirring sound, it usually means the internal fan is working too hard due to restricted airflow or the machine is vibrating against something nearby.
Follow these quick steps to quiet your machine:
The Silence & Smooth Airflow Method
1.Power off the unit:Safety first.
Locate the main power switch at the back of the Sterra S and turn it OFF. Unplug it from the wall socket to safely stop all internal motors and fans.
2.Clean the rear dust filter:Clears fan strain noises.
Slide out the mesh dust filter from the back panel. Wash it thoroughly under cool, running tap water to remove trapped dust and lint. Shake off excess water and let it dry completely before sliding it back into place.
3.Adjust the machine's positioning:Stops rattling & buzzing.
Check your countertop setup. Ensure your Sterra S has at least 4 inches (10 cm) of clear space on all sides. Make sure the machine is not pushed completely flush against a wall, wire, or other kitchen appliances, which causes loud structural vibrations.
4.Check the surface level:Balances the internal motor.
Gently rock the machine with your hand. If it wobbles, the surface is uneven, causing the internal compressor to rattle. Make sure all four rubber feet sit flat on a solid, stable countertop.
5.Power back on:Initialization.
Once the filter is dry and reinstalled, plug the unit back in and switch it ON. Let the system complete its startup sequence and listen to see if the sound returns to a normal, quiet hum.
