Sterra S — Filter Indicator Light Still Blinking After Filter ReplacementUpdated 2 hours ago

If you have just installed brand-new filter bottles into your Sterra S but the filter indicator light is stubbornly blinking, don't worry! Your machine is completely healthy.

Our purifiers calculate filter life using an internal countdown chip. The machine does not automatically detect a physical filter swap—you must manually reset the internal clock to tell it a fresh filter is inside.

Please follow these steps to reset your display panel and clear the alert:

1. Perform the Manual 6-Second Filter Reset (Primary Fix)

You can do this while the machine is turned on and sitting in its normal idle state.

  • Locate the Filter icon button on the touch control panel.

  • Press and hold your finger down on the Filter button for at least 6 to 8 continuous seconds.

  • Do not lift your finger early. Listen for a clear, audible "beep" tone. The moment the machine beeps, the flashing light will reset, turn solid, or turn off entirely, signaling that the internal counter has officially reset to 100%.

If the Light Refuses to Reset, Check These Two Backup Steps:

2. Verify the New Filter Bottles are Locked into Place

If a filter bottle is even slightly twisted out of alignment, an internal safety pin remains uncompressed, preventing the computer board from accepting a firmware reset.

  • Turn off the main switch at the back of the machine.

  • Open the filter compartment door.

  • Firmly grab each new filter bottle, twist it out, and slide it back in. Ensure you twist it all the way to the right until you feel it click firmly into its designated locking slot.

3. Clean the Rear Dust Filter

While you are looking at the machine, a thick blanket of dust on the rear ventilation mesh can sometimes trigger a localized overheating warning that masks itself as a persistent panel error.

  • Slide the mesh dust filter out from the back of the unit.

  • Wash it under cool running tap water, allow it to dry completely, and slide it back into the frame.

4. Restart and Test

  • Turn the main power switch back to ON and wait 15 seconds for the startup sequence to finish.

  • Try holding the Filter button down for 6 seconds one more time.
