Sterra Ray — FL Error on ScreenUpdated 3 hours ago

If your Sterra Ray Dehumidifier has paused its cycle and is flashing "FL" on its digital screen, it simply means Full Liquid. This is a built-in safety feature designed to cut power to the water pump and compressor before any moisture can overflow onto your floors.

Follow these 3 quick checks to reset the sensor and get your machine back to drying your space:

1. Empty the Water Tank Completely

If the unit has been pulling a lot of moisture from your room, the reservoir may simply be at maximum capacity.

  • Turn off the machine and slide the water tank out from the back.

  • Empty the collected water down the drain.

  • Slide the tank back into the slots firmly. Ensure it sits completely flush and flat against the machine's casing. If the tank is slightly crooked, the internal safety switch won't click closed, and the "FL" code will stay on the screen.

2. Free the "Float Valve" Sensor (The Quick Flick Fix)

If the "FL" error is still showing even when your water tank is completely empty, the internal sensor is likely jammed by a small pocket of air or a piece of lint.

  • Slide the empty water tank out and look inside it.

  • You will see a small, plastic floating hinge mechanism (the float valve). This valve rises as water fills the tank to measure the liquid level.

  • The Fix: Tap or gently flick the plastic float with your finger. It should bounce up and down completely freely. If it is stuck or wedged in the "up" position, gently move it until it drops back down to the bottom of the tank.

3. Check for Tank Obstructions

  • Look inside the empty cabinet slot where the tank usually slides in. Make sure there is no trapped packing material, pet hair, or stray debris blocking the corners.

Ready to Restart?

Once the float valve is resting at the bottom and the tank is pushed securely into place, turn the Sterra Ray back on. The "FL" code will disappear, and the machine will immediately resume extracting humidity.

If the FL code refuses to clear even though the tank is empty, aligned, and the float valve moves smoothly, please contact our Live Support Team
