Sterra Nova — Blinking Yellow or Orange LightUpdated 10 hours ago

If your Sterra Nova’s air quality indicator ring begins flashing with a blinking yellow or orange light, please be completely reassured. This does not mean the internal turbine fan has failed or that your device has suffered a permanent mechanical breakdown!

A blinking yellow or orange light indicates that the machine's internal Particulate Sensor is registering a moderate to high accumulation of airborne particles (such as micro-dust, cooking vapors, or pollen) or that the sensor's optical lens is experiencing a temporary calibration lag. When the surrounding air column remains stagnant, the sensor can get stuck reading a highly localized pocket of air, keeping the system locked in a warning loop.

You can easily clear the sensor's tracking path, refresh the system firmware, and restore a healthy baseline at home by completing this quick diagnostic cycle:

The Power Cycle & Sensor Recalibration Sequence

Please follow these steps systematically to reset the device tracking:

1.Perform a Full System Power Cycle:

With the unit running, turn it off using the main control panel. Next, switch off the power point at the wall outlet and completely unplug the Sterra Nova's power cord.

Let the machine rest completely disconnected for at least 1 minute. This drains residual electrical currents from the motherboard, clearing temporary tracking logs and forcing the internal alignment sensors to prepare for a clean, factory-baseline reboot.

2.Isolate the Environment by Relocating the Unit

While the unit is unplugged, move the Sterra Nova to a completely different room or a well-ventilated location (such as a spacious hallway or living area).

Ensure the machine is placed on a flat, stable surface at least 30 cm away from walls, curtains, or furniture. This allows the rear air intakes to draw from an entirely fresh, unrestricted column of air.

3.Turn the Unit Back On and Monitor the Indicator

Plug the power cord firmly back into a live wall socket and turn the Sterra Nova back on.

Let the machine run continuously for a few minutes. For the vast majority of users, this combination of an electrical system reset and room relocation will clear the trapped air pocket, allowing the sensor to update and return to a healthy green or blue air quality baseline.

What to Do If the Blinking Yellow or Orange Light Persists

If you have completed the full power cycle and relocated your Sterra Nova, but the light stubbornly continues to blink yellow or orange, a deep layer of micro-dust film may be covering the internal optical lens, or a localized hardware fault may be present.

Because the internal sensor array is integrated directly into the factory-sealed upper chassis to preserve strict airflow dynamics, it cannot be safely opened or manually adjusted at home. Your file will need to be handed over to our technical team for an expert service review.

Please log into our Customer Support portal to submit your direct request:

1.Record a Continuous 1-Minute Verification Video

Place your Sterra Nova in a well-lit room. Record a continuous video of at least 1 minute capturing the issue.

Start the video by showing the blinking yellow or orange light ring clearly, then capture a quick shot of the surrounding open area to show it has proper clearance. Let the camera run continuously for a full minute so our engineering team can verify that the blinking alert pattern is completely continuous and unresponsive to the environment.

2.Submit Your Direct Support Request

Log into your account portal, attach your 1-minute video, and copy-and-paste the following message directly to our live agents:

  1. Log in to our Customer Support Portal.

  2. Submit a support ticket describing the issue.

  3. Attach a short video (at least 1 minute long) showing the error happening. This will help our technical team diagnose and resolve the issue much faster for you.

📌 Support Message Template: "The indicator ring on my Sterra Nova is showing a persistent blinking yellow/orange light. I have followed the Help Center guide to perform a full power cycle and relocated the unit to a fresh environment, but the blinking alert remains stuck. I have attached the required 1-minute troubleshooting video demonstrating the issue for review by a live agent."
