Sterra Flow Pro — Motor Not Activated While Charging Icon is LitUpdated 13 hours ago
If you press the power button on your Sterra Flow Pro and the motor refuses to start while the charging icon remains lit on the screen, please be completely reassured. This does not mean your vacuum's motor is broken or that your battery has failed!
This symptom is caused by an active Charging Interlock Safety Protocol. The Sterra Flow Pro is engineered with a smart safety override that automatically locks out the motor while it detects an incoming power stream or a residual charging signal. This prevents the vacuum from running while physically tethered to the wall, protecting both the charging cable and the internal circuit boards from electrical stress.
You can easily break this safety loop and restore normal cleaning operations by completing this quick power reset:
The Power Reset & Interlock Clearance Sequence
Please follow these quick steps to clear the communication block on your unit:
1.Disconnect the Charging Cable Completely
Unplug the charging adapter cable entirely from the charging port on your vacuum handle.
The vacuum cannot turn on while a power cable is connected to it. Removing the cable tells the internal smart chip to exit charging mode and switch into standard cleaning mode.
2.Remove and Re-seat the Battery Pack
If the charging icon stays lit even after unplugging the cable, the system may have a residual software lock. Press the release latch, slide the modular battery pack completely out of its tracks, and wait 10 seconds.
Slide the battery pack firmly back into the handle track until you hear a solid "click" to restore a clean, un-tethered electrical connection.
3.Test the Power Trigger Switch
Press the ON/OFF button to start the vacuum.
With the charger removed and the battery pack completely re-seated, the safety lock will instantly clear, the icon will turn off, and your vacuum will power up normally.
What to Do If the Charging Icon Stays Stuck On
For 95% of users, simply unplugging the charger and re-snapping the battery pack will instantly clear the charging icon and let the motor start up.
However, if you have verified the charger is completely disconnected, re-seated the battery, but the charging icon stubbornly stays lit and blocks the motor from turning on, the internal power pins or the battery management circuit may have sustained a technical fault.

1.Record a Continuous Verification Video
Place your vacuum on a flat surface. Record a continuous video of at least 1 minute capturing your troubleshooting steps.
Start the video by showing that the charging cable is completely unplugged, slide the battery out and back in, and then press the power button to show the stuck charging icon blocking the motor for a full continuous minute.
