Sterra Flow Pro — Loose Extension RodUpdated 19 hours ago
If you notice a slight wobble, give, or loose shifting sensation where your aluminum extension rod connects to either the main handheld unit or the floor brush head, please be completely reassured. This does not mean your locking mechanisms are broken or that the structural casing has cracked!
This symptom is caused by a simple Structural Anchor Relaxation. To maintain a lightweight yet ultra-durable chassis, the Sterra Flow Pro utilizes structural tension screws inside the collar of the extension rod to keep the connecting sleeves perfectly rigid. Over time, the repetitive kinetic vibrations generated by gliding over textured carpets and floor transitions can cause these specialized anchor screws to loosen by a fraction of a millimeter. When this happens, a tiny structural gap forms, making the long extension rod feel unstable or unsteady in your hand.
You can easily tighten the structural anchors and restore a completely rigid, rock-solid connection by completing this quick stabilization sequence:
The Structural Anchor Tensioning Sequence
Please turn off the power and lay the extension rod on a flat, stable surface before starting:
1.Isolate and Inspect the Extension Rod Joints
Press the quick-release clips to detach the aluminum extension rod from both the handheld motor unit and the motorized floor brush head.
Examine the connecting collars at both the top and bottom ends of the rod. Locate the small structural anchor screws positioned near the interlocking plastic sleeves.
2.Tighten the Internal Structural Screws
Take a standard matching household screwdriver (typically a small Phillips head) and insert it firmly into the screw heads on the extension rod assembly.
Turn the screws clockwise to tighten them securely back into their factory-set positions. Ensure they are snug and flush against the housing, but avoid using excessive force to prevent over-tightening.
3.Reassemble and Conduct a Rigidity Test
Snap the extension rod back into the handheld vacuum unit and reattach the floor brush head until you hear a clean, distinct "click" at both joint connections.
Lift the vacuum and apply light pressure against the floor. With the structural anchor screws firmly tightened, the structural gap is eliminated—instantly restoring a solid, premium, and wobble-free cleaning experience.
What to Do If the Extension Rod Remains Loose
For 95% of users, a quick turn of a screwdriver to tighten the loose internal anchor screws will instantly eliminate any wobbling and secure the rod connection completely.
However, if you have meticulously tightened all visible screws on the extension rod, but the connection joints stubbornly remain loose, shaky, or fail to lock tightly together, the internal tracking grooves may have sustained structural wear, or a locking tab inside the connection collar may be damaged.

1.Record a Continuous Verification Video.
Assemble your vacuum fully. Record a continuous video of at least 1 minute capturing your extension rod joints.
Start the video by showing yourself gently wobblying or shaking the rod connection points to demonstrate the loose fit, and run the camera continuously for a full minute while showing that the locking clips are fully engaged but still slipping.
