Sterra Flow — Floor Brush Overcurrent — Yellow Slow Flash Brush Stops but Main Unit WorksUpdated a day ago

If your Sterra Flow indicator light is flashing Yellow slowly, and your motorized floor brush has completely stopped spinning even though the main vacuum motor is still running, please be completely reassured. This does not mean your vacuum's floor head is permanently broken!

This symptom indicates that the floor head has deployed an Independent Drive Safety Pause. To achieve its deep, debris-lifting performance, the Sterra Flow floor brush is powered by its own dedicated motorized drive system located directly inside the lower brush housing. If the brush roller encounters heavy physical resistance—such as long hair, pet fur, strings, or thick carpet fibers wrapped tightly around the cylinder—the internal sensors instantly detect the strain on the gears. To prevent the roller motor from overloading or burning out, it cuts power only to the floor head, while safely allowing the main suction unit to continue running.

You can easily release this physical lock and get your brush roller spinning smoothly again by completing this quick cleaning routine:

The Roller Drive Clearing & Reset Sequence

Please turn off your vacuum and detach the floor brush head entirely from the extension rod before completing these steps:

1.Extract the Motorized Brush Roller

Turn the floor brush head upside down on a flat surface. Locate the small locking latch on the side or bottom of the casing, release it, and carefully lift the rolling brush out of its plastic housing tray.

2.Cut Away Hidden Hair, Fur, and Debris

Take a pair of household scissors and slide them along the built-in groove of the brush roller. Carefully cut through any tightly bound hair, pet fur, threads, or rug fibers.

Be sure to pull off any packed lint or wrapped hair clinging to the end caps and axle bearings on both sides of the roller. Ensure the empty cylinder can spin 100% freely in your hand.

3.Inspect the Intake and Re-seat the Roller.

Check the plastic suction throat behind where the roller sits to ensure no large debris or paper clips are wedged inside.

Once clear, slide the brush roller firmly back into its tracking guide, lock the side latch, and click the floor head back onto the extension rod.

What to Do If the Yellow Flash and Jam Persist

For nearly all users, thoroughly untangling the brush roller and clearing the side bearings immediately releases the safety lock, allowing the floor brush to spin at maximum velocity the moment you press the power trigger.

However, if you have completely cleared the roller brush of all hair and debris, ensured it spins beautifully by hand, but the indicator light stubbornly continues to flash a slow yellow and the brush refuses to rotate, an internal component fault inside the brush head motor or the connection terminals may be present.
