Sterra Flow — Extending Rod Has Big Cap and Button Does Not Pop OutUpdated a day ago

If you notice a large visible gap where your extension rod connects to the floor brush head, and the spring-loaded quick-release button refuses to fully pop out and lock, please be completely reassured. This does not mean the locking tabs are broken or that the plastic molds are defective!

This issue is caused by a very simple Tension Alignment Calibration. Inside the structural sleeve of the extension rod sits a protective conductive tube that safely channels power down to the motorized brush head. If the tiny anchoring screw holding this internal tube was tightened a fraction of a millimeter too much during factory assembly, it pulls the inner sleeve slightly backward. This extra tension prevents the outer rod from sliding completely flush, which blocks the spring button from snapping upward into its true home slot.

You can easily release this extra tension and perfectly realign the locking joint in less than a minute by completing this quick adjustment:

The 1-Minute Tension Calibration Guide

Please grab a standard small screwdriver and complete this quick structural adjustment:

1.Disconnect the Extension Rod and Locate the Screw

Press the quick-release tab to separate the extension rod from the floor brush head. Turn the rod over and look closely at the interior connection terminal joint.

You will see a small, silver conductive tube screw anchoring the internal electronics track in place.

2.Loosen the Conductive Tube Screw Exactly One Turn

Insert your screwdriver into the head of the silver screw. Turn the screwdriver counter-clockwise exactly one full turn to back the screw out slightly.

Note: Do not remove the screw completely! You only want to back it off just enough to release the tight factory tension and allow the inner tube to sit naturally.

3.Reconnect the Components and Listen for the Lock

Align the extension rod straight with the floor brush head nozzle. Slide them firmly together until the metal sleeves seat completely flush.

With the tension relaxed, the structural gap will vanish, and the locking button will instantly snap upward with a clean, satisfying "click" sound.

Still Not Snapping Into Place?

For 99% of users, slightly backing off that single internal screw instantly eases the structural tension, closing the visual gap and allowing the quick-release button to spring open perfectly.

However, if you have carefully loosened the conductive tube screw but the rod stubbornly refuses to slide completely flush, or if the spring-loaded button feels jammed or unresponsive from the inside, the locking spring mechanism itself may require a hardware inspection.
