Sterra Flow — Charges SlowlyUpdated 10 hours ago
If your Sterra Flow is taking significantly longer than the standard 4 to 5 hours to reach a full 100% charge, please be completely reassured. This does not mean your battery is permanently degraded or broken.
Slow charging is almost always caused by an active Thermal Safeguard Pause. The Sterra Flow is equipped with an advanced Smart Battery Management System (BMS) that monitors the temperature of the lithium-ion cells down to the exact degree. Lithium batteries are highly sensitive to climate environments; if the cells are too hot (right after a heavy cleaning session) or too cold, the BMS intentionally throttles or slows down the incoming electrical current. This protective delay shields the battery from structural stress and preserves its long-term life.
How to Reset the Thermal Safeguard
To help your vacuum's battery return to its optimal charging temperature zone, walk through these simple steps:
1.Let the Battery Rest and Acclimatize
Unplug the charging cable completely from the vacuum. Place the Sterra Flow in a well-ventilated room with a moderate, neutral indoor temperature.
Let the unit sit completely idle for 30 minutes. This allows any internal heat built up from vacuuming, or any surface chill from a cold air-conditioning vent, to dissipate naturally.
2.Relocate Your Charging Station
Ensure your vacuum is not being charged in areas prone to temperature extremes. Avoid placing the charger in direct sunlight, near hot sunny windows, next to laundry dryers, or directly under an active air-con blast.
3.Reconnect to a Direct Wall Outlet
Once the machine has fully rested at room temperature, plug the genuine Sterra Flow adapter directly into a wall socket (avoiding shared extension tracks) and insert the pin into the battery. The smart system will recognize the safe climate and automatically ramp up to full charging speeds.
What to Do If Charging Speeds Don't Improve
For the vast majority of households, giving the high-performance power cells 30 minutes to cool down after a deep vacuuming run will instantly clear the slow-charging guard.
However, if you have moved your charging setup to a temperature-controlled room, allowed it to rest, and it still takes an entire day to gain just a small amount of power, your charging block or the internal battery chemistry may require a technical check.
