Sterra 8 — E13 Hot Water Outlet Temperature Sensor ErrorUpdated 2 hours ago
If your Sterra 8 display screen is flashing a hot water outlet sensor error, please be reassured that your machine is operating exactly as designed to ensure your physical safety.
This alert means the internal computer noticed a brief reading discrepancy from the thermal sensor that measures water right as it exits the heating tank. To prevent overheating and guarantee precise water temperatures, the machine automatically launches a self-diagnostic scan to safely recalibrate its sensors.
Step 1: Let the Automated Scan Finish
In the vast majority of cases, the machine will resolve this minor reading variance completely on its own without you needing to do a thing.
Leave the Machine Alone: Do not tap the touch panel or attempt to dispense hot water while the diagnostic scan is actively running.
Watch for the Auto-Clear: Let the system complete its check. The error message will automatically clear itself from the screen the moment the calibration is successful, and your dispenser will instantly return to normal operation.
Step 2: Perform a Manual System Reset
If the sensor error remains frozen on your panel and fails to clear automatically after a few minutes, the internal control board just needs a quick manual refresh to clear out its temporary electronic memory.
Turn Off the Power Switch:.
Locate the main power toggle switch on the side or back of your Sterra 8 machine body. Flip the switch to the OFF position.
Wait Exactly 10 Seconds:
Leave the machine completely powered down for a full 10 seconds. This brief pause allows the internal computer boards to fully reset and drops any temporary electronic glitches.
Flip the Power Back On:.
Flip the main power toggle switch back to the ON position. Watch the display screen as the system boots back up, the sensor alert should now be entirely resolved, and your heating system will resume working perfectly.
What to Do If the Error Persists
If you have completed the manual 10-second power reset, but your Sterra 8 boots right back up into a permanent hot water outlet sensor error screen, the internal heating safety sensor may need a professional look.
