Sterra 8 — E02 Filter Cover OpenUpdated an hour ago
If your Sterra 8 is displaying a filter door warning light, sounding a chime, or refusing to dispense water, the smart safety sensor has detected that the filter compartment cover is unlatched or slightly loose.
The machine automatically pauses operation as a built-in safety feature to prevent accidental water leaks. Resolving this takes just a few seconds.
Step-by-Step Fix
Locate the Filter Cover.
Locate the filter access door on your Sterra 8. If you recently changed your filters, the panel might look flush but may not be fully snapped into its internal safety clips.
Firmly Close and Latch:
Place your hand flat against the center of the filter cover and press inward firmly. Push until you hear a distinct "click" or feel the magnetic latch lock completely flat against the machine's body.
Reset the System:
Look at your main touch panel. The filter warning light or error chime should now be completely gone.
Test the Purifier:
Place a cup under the nozzle and press the Dispense button. Your Sterra 8 will instantly resume normal operation and pour fresh, purified water!
Still Not Working?
If you have firmly snapped the cover shut until it clicks, but the error light stays on, or the machine still won't dispense, a small piece of dust might be blocking the safety sensor, or a filter cartridge inside might be slightly misaligned and pushing the door outward.
Open the door, ensure your internal filters are pushed all the way up and locked into place, and try closing the door one more time. If the issue persists, please reach out to our Customer Support Team, and we will gladly help you get it sorted out!
