Sterra 7 — Water Leakage at T-Valve Tubing or Tap Adapter ConnectionUpdated 2 hours ago

Discovering water pooling under your kitchen sink or near your water line can be stressful. If you notice a leak around your Sterra 7 connections, your immediate priority should be to minimize water damage and pinpoint exactly where the water is coming from.

Follow these easy steps to secure your kitchen and determine whether you need a Sterra technician or a household plumber.

Step 1: Emergency Shutdown

Before inspecting the leak, safely shut off the water to prevent further pooling or damage.

  1. Turn off the Water Supply: Locate the small metal splitter (T-valve) connected to your cold water pipe under the sink, or the tap adapter connected to your faucet. Turn the lever or knob to the CLOSED position.

  2. Turn off the Inline Valve: If you see a small blue plastic valve along the thin water line, flip it so it sits at a 90-degree angle (perpendicular to the tube) to stop water flow completely.

  3. Wipe Down the Area: Dry the cabinet floor or countertop thoroughly with a towel so you can easily spot new droplets during the inspection.

Step 2: Pinpoint the Source of the Leak

Now that the water is temporarily controlled, look closely at where the moisture is originating. This tells us who is responsible for the fix:

Scenario A: It is a Home Plumbing Leak (Contact a Plumber)

If the water is dripping from parts of your house that existed before you bought your water purifier, it is a non-product issue.

  • Where to look: Your main household water pipes, the threads of your kitchen faucet body, or the heavy-duty plumbing joints coming directly out of your kitchen wall.

  • What to do: Because these involve your home's core plumbing infrastructure, our technicians are not legally authorized to repair them. Please contact a local professional plumber to tighten or replace your household pipes.

Scenario B: It is a Sterra Connection Leak (Contact Sterra Support)

If the water is leaking directly from the specialized hardware or tubes installed specifically for your dispenser, it is a product issue.

  • Where to look: The thin white or blue tubing, the push-fit plastic connectors, the joints where the thin tube locks into the metal T-valve, or the tap adapter piece itself.

  • What to do: Leave the water valves turned off and move to Step 3 below.

Step 3: Schedule Your Priority Repair

If your inspection confirmed that the leak is coming from the Sterra 7 unit, its tubing, or its specialized adapters, we treat this as a high-priority safety ticket.

Please reach out to our Customer Support Team right away.

  1. Log in to our Customer Support Portal.
