Sterra 7 — Touch Panel Buttons Not WorkingUpdated 2 hours ago
If your Sterra 7 touch panel is not responding to your touch, take a close look at the main Dispense button. If it is slowly pulsing in a "breathing" light pattern, your machine is simply performing an internal water system flush.
🔒 Normal System Behavior: To ensure complete water hygiene and precise system calibration, the touch panel is automatically locked during the flushing cycle. The machine will not respond to any touch commands until this cycle is finished. This is a built-in safety feature, not a mechanical defect.
What to Expect During a Flush
The Timeline: A standard flushing cycle takes between 10 to 15 minutes to thoroughly rinse the internal lines.
How to Know It is Done: You do not need to press anything. Once the flush is complete, the breathing light will stop, the main dispense button will turn a solid Blue, and the touch panel will instantly unlock for normal use.
Fix: What to Do If the Panel Stays Frozen
If your machine has been pulsing for longer than 20 minutes, or if the panel remains completely locked up after the lights turn off, the internal software may be temporarily stuck in a loop.
Follow this exact sequence to clear the memory and run a clean re-sync:
1. Power Off:. Locate the main power switch on the back or side of your Sterra 7 and toggle it to the OFF position.
2. Disconnect the Power:. Completely pull the power plug out of the wall electrical outlet.
3. Wait for System Discharge:5 Minutes.
Leave the machine entirely unplugged for 5 full minutes. This allows the electronic capacitors inside the control board to drain completely and clear out any glitched software loops.
4. Restart and Let Flush: 10–15 Minutes.
Plug the power cord back into the wall and switch the machine back ON. The Sterra 7 will automatically initialize a fresh flush. Let the machine sit uninterrupted in "breathing mode" for 10–15 minutes until the dispense light turns a steady, solid blue.
Still Not Responding?
If you have completed the full 5-minute power cycle and waited the required 15 minutes, but your touch panel remains completely frozen or dark, your control board may require a hardware inspection.
