Sterra 7 — Hot Water Splashing When DispensingUpdated 3 hours ago

If your Sterra 7 is dispensing water at a slow trickle, or if the touch panel seems unresponsive and glitched, the issue is typically caused by either a restricted water supply or a temporary software loop.

Follow this step-by-step guide to check your plumbing lines and perform a clean system reset.

Checking Your Water Pressure (Physical Supply)

If the main symptom is a slow or weak water stream, the machine is likely not receiving enough water from your home supply.

1. Verify Your Supply Valves Are Fully Open

Please check both water valves to ensure they haven't been bumped or partially closed:

  • The Main Under-Sink Valve: Locate the metal valve where the Sterra 7 connects to your home's main water pipe underneath your sink. Turn it fully to the OPEN position.

  • The Blue Valve: Locate the small blue valve fitted onto the thin water tube leading directly into the back of your Sterra 7. Ensure this valve is turned completely parallel to the tube (fully open). If it is at a right angle, the water supply is cut off.

Quick Check: Look along the entire length of the thin water line to ensure it isn't bent, kinked, or pinched tightly behind cabinetry.

2. Check Your Filter Age

If your valves are wide open but the stream is still weak, your filters may be clogged with trapped sediments.

  • Are your filters older than 6 months? If yes, they are likely at the end of their lifespan and restricting the water flow. We highly recommend ordering a replacement set.

🎁 Our Support Promise: If you suspect your filters are the culprit and they are more than 6 months old, please go ahead and order a fresh set. If our support team later determines that an internal mechanical issue was the actual cause of your low pressure, any filters used during this troubleshooting process will be replaced completely free of charge.

Clearing a Software Glitch (System Reset)

If your water pressure lines are perfect, but the touch panel is acting up, frozen, or flashing abnormally, the internal control board needs a clean reboot to clear its memory.

  1. Power Down: Turn off the main power switch located at the back or side of the Sterra 7.

  2. Unplug: Completely disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet.

  3. Wait 5 Minutes: Leave the machine completely unplugged for 5 full minutes to allow the internal software capacitors to drain and reset.

  4. Power Back On: Plug the unit directly back into the wall socket and turn the main switch ON.

  5. Let It Flush: The machine will automatically run a mandatory 15-minute system flush (the dispense button will slowly pulse in a "breathing" light pattern). Do not touch any buttons until the lights turn completely off.

Still Not Working Perfectly?

If you have verified your water valves are open, your filters are fresh, and you've completed a full power reset, but the issue persists, the machine may require an on-site inspection.

Please reach out to our Customer Support Team. Let us know that you have already verified both valves and completed the 5-minute power reset, and we will fast-track a technician visit to your home!

  1. Log in to our Customer Support Portal.

  2. Submit a support ticket describing the issue.

  3. Attach a short video (at least 1 minute long) showing the error happening. This will help our technical team diagnose and resolve the issue much faster for you.
