Sterra 7 — Filter Replacement Alarm is OnUpdated 29 minutes ago
If you have replaced your filters but your Sterra 7 touch panel is still displaying a yellow, orange, or red filter alert, the internal software needs a clean sequence reboot to register the new hardware.
Follow this step-by-step sequence to properly install, flush, and sync your new filters with the machine's computer.
Step 1: Drain & Power Down
To allow the internal software sensors to clear their previous memory, we need to completely power down the system without water pressure.
Close the water valve: Locate your water supply valve (usually under the sink or behind the machine) and turn it to the CLOSED position.
Drain remaining water: Press the Dispense button on the panel to release any residual water pressure left inside the lines.
Power off: Switch off the main power button at the back or side of the Sterra 7, then unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
Step 2: Reseat the Filters
Sometimes the software fails to reset simply because a filter bottle isn't micro-aligned with the internal sensor clips.
Open the filter compartment cover.
Remove your new filters and slide them back into place, ensuring they are completely seated, upright, and firmly locked into position.
Close the filter compartment cover securely.
Step 3: Power On & Run the System Flush
Now we will introduce water back into the system to trigger the machine's automatic initialization software.
Open your water supply valve fully.
Plug the power cord back into the wall and turn the main power switch ON.
Watch the panel: The Sterra 7 should automatically begin an internal flushing cycle.
Note: If the automatic flush does not start on its own, force it manually by pressing and holding the Self-Care + Ambient buttons together for 5 seconds.
Wait 15 minutes: The main dispense button will pulse in a slow "breathing" light pattern. Do not touch any buttons or try to dispense water. Wait roughly 15 minutes until all lights turn completely off, signaling the flush is done.
Step 4: Perform the Final Software Reset
Once the 15-minute flush is complete and the lights are off, you must manually tell the computer to clear the old filter alert:
Press and hold the Dispense + Ambient buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds.
The indicator light should immediately change to a healthy Green, confirming the software has successfully registered your new filters.
Still Showing a Filter Error?
