Sterra 7 — E17 All Icons Blinking — Hot Module Flow ErrorUpdated a day ago

If your Sterra 7 Water Purifier is displaying an E17 error, with the Volume, Cold, Ambient, and Hot icons blinking simultaneously, or if hot water is bursting/sputtering when dispensed—follow this guide to resolve the issue.

What Causes the E17 Error?

The E17 error occurs when water flows too slowly into the hot module (heating component). When the water supply is restricted, the heater overheats the remaining water inside, leading to steam buildup and causing hot water to burst out during dispensing.

Troubleshooting Steps

Step 1: Check Your Water Valves

  1. Locate your main home water inlet valve and the blue valve attached to the purifier's tubing.

  2. Ensure both valves are completely open.

  3. If either valve is partially closed, open it fully and test dispensing hot water again.

Step 2: Check Filter Replacement History

A clogged or overdue filter is the most common cause of reduced water flow to the hot module.

  • Over 6 months since the last filter change: Replace your filters immediately. Clogged filters restrict water flow, triggering the E17 safety error.

  • Under 6 months since the last filter change: If your filters are fresh and both valves are fully open, the issue may require repair by our technical team. Please take a quick photo or short video of the issue and contact our Customer Support Team immediately.

    1. Log in to our Customer Support Portal.

    2. Submit a support ticket describing the issue.

    3. Attach a short video (at least 1 minute long) showing the error happening.
