Sterra 7 — E01 Hot Icon Blinking on Touch PanelUpdated 22 minutes ago

If the Hot icon on your Sterra 7 is blinking, it means the machine cannot detect sufficient water flowing into the system. This is typically caused by a clogged filter, a partially closed water valve, or a temporary system glitch.

Please follow this step-by-step guide to reset the system and restore your water flow:

Step 1: Check Your Water Supply & Valves

Before resetting the machine, let's make sure water can actually get to it:

  • Check your valves: Confirm that both your home’s main water line valve and the blue valve on the Sterra 7 are turned completely to the open position.

  • Check your under-sink line: If your valves are open but the water pressure coming into the machine feels very weak, your under-sink line might have a minor blockage. You can follow our Under-Sink Valve Video Guide to safely inspect and clear it.

Step 2: Check Your Filter Lifespan

  • If your filter hasn’t been replaced in 4–6 months, it may be heavily clogged and restricting water flow. We highly recommend installing a fresh filter before moving to the next step.

  • If your filter is relatively new, please proceed directly to Step 3.

Step 3: Perform a System Power Cycle & Auto-Flush

If your water lines are clear and your filter is fresh, let's reset the internal flow sensors:

  1. Power Down: Switch off the Sterra 7 at the main power outlet, unplug it from the wall, and wait 10 full minutes to let the internal memory reset.

  2. Power Up: Plug the unit back in and turn it on. Make sure your filter compartment door is completely and securely closed.

  3. Wait for Auto-Flush: The Sterra 7 will automatically begin a self-cleaning cycle. The dispense button will show a pulsing/breathing light. Do not touch the machine for about 15 minutes until all the lights turn completely off.

Once the auto-flushing cycle finishes completely, check the display panel to see if the Hot icon has stopped blinking and returned to normal.

Still Blinking? If you have completed the power cycle and confirmed your water lines are fully open, your unit may have an internal flow sensor issue. Please contact our Customer Support Team so we can arrange a technician visit to resolve this for you!

  1. Log in to our Customer Support Portal.

  2. Submit a support ticket describing the issue.

  3. Attach a short video (at least 1 minute long) showing the error happening. This will help our technical team diagnose and resolve the issue much faster for you.

Thank you for your patience, and we look forward to getting this sorted out!
