Sterra Y — Machine is Hot or OverheatingUpdated a day ago

If the exterior casing of your Sterra Y feels noticeably warm or hot to the touch, the machine is likely struggling to exhaust heat properly. Like a refrigerator, your water purifier needs a steady flow of air around it to keep its internal compressor running cool and efficiently.

Before booking a service visit, follow these three steps to improve the unit's ventilation and ensure it is operating within a safe temperature range.

Airflow Restoration Sequence

1.1. Check your clearances: Prevents heat recirculation.

Pull your Sterra Y away from the wall and any surrounding cabinets. Ensure there is at least 10–15 cm of open space on the left, right, and rear sides of the machine. This "breathing room" is essential for the hot air generated by the cooling system to escape.

2.2. Execute a 2-hour thermal cool-down: Resets the internal thermal sensors.

Turn the rear power switches OFF and unplug the unit from the wall. Let the machine sit undisturbed for at least 2 hours. This allows the internal components to return to room temperature and clears any thermal protection locks in the system.

3.3. Verify the heat exhaust: Confirms compressor activation.

Plug the machine back in and turn the rear switches ON. After 30–60 minutes of operation, gently touch the rear panel.

  • If it feels slightly warm: The machine is successfully exhausting heat, and the ventilation fix is working!

  • If it remains completely cold: The internal cooling fan or compressor may not be turning on.

Still feeling hot or not venting heat?

If you have provided the required 15 cm of clearance and allowed the unit to cool down for 2 hours, but the rear panel still fails to vent any warmth (meaning the compressor isn't starting), please contact our support team.

  1. Log in to our Customer Support Portal.

  2. Submit a support ticket describing the issue.

  3. Attach a short video (at least 1 minute long) showing the error happening. This will help our technical team diagnose and resolve the issue much faster for you.

Thank you for your patience, and we look forward to getting this sorted out!
