Sterra X — Cannot Dispense WaterUpdated 2 days ago
If your Sterra X shows power but absolutely no water comes out when you press the dispense buttons, the system has experienced a water supply disruption or an internal blockage. This usually happens if a water valve was bumped closed or if an old filter cartridge has become completely clogged with sediment.
Follow these 2 simple steps to check your water lines and clear the blockage:
Step 1: Check the Water Supply Valves
Before checking the machine's internal parts, ensure water is actually flowing to your Sterra X:
Check your main home water valve: Ensure your sink's main under-counter water valve is fully open and your home has active running water.
Check the blue valve on the machine: Look at the water tube connection at the back or underside of your Sterra X. Locate the small blue shut-off valve and make sure it is turned completely parallel to the tube line (fully open). If it is turned sideways, the water supply is cut off.
Step 2: Check Your Filter Replacement Timeline
If both valves are wide open but the machine still won't dispense, the internal filters are likely blocked.
When was your last filter replacement? Sterra X filter cartridges must be replaced every 6 months to maintain proper water flow and hygiene.
If your filters have been in use for longer than 6 months, sediment buildup has likely choked the internal carbon block or membrane, stopping water from passing through.
Still not dispensing after checking the valves?
If your filter is over 6 months old: Your filters are blocked and a replacement set is required to restore water flow. Connect with a live specialist who will help you order a new filter kit and quickly arrange a technical installation visit.
If your filter is less than 6 months old: There may be a blocked tank inlet or an internal tubing kink. Connect to an agent who can arrange an on-site technical inspection.
