Sterra Beam — Voice Prompt Please Clean Brushroll with Flashing IconUpdated 13 hours ago
If your Sterra Beam plays the voice announcement "Please clean brushroll" while flashing a warning icon on the display screen, your machine’s Intelligent Resistance Sensors have been triggered.
This alert means the brush motor has detected an obstruction that is preventing the floor roller from spinning at its optimal speed. This is almost always caused by tangled long hair, carpet threads, thin strings, or a small object wedged into the side gears. To prevent the motor from straining, drawing too much electricity, or overheating, the smart safety chip automatically pauses the roller and triggers the voice alert.
Clearing the jam is quick, safe, and requires no special tools.
How to Clear the Brushroll Jam
Please walk through this step-by-step cleaning sequence to physically remove the entanglement and reset the sensors:
Power Off the Device:.
Press the power button to turn your Sterra Beam completely OFF. For your absolute safety, never attempt to clear the brush assembly or remove the protective covers while the machine is powered on.
Remove the Brush Cover and Roller:.
Press the release clips on the vacuum floor head to pop off the translucent brush window cover. Gently lift out the cylindrical micro-fiber brush roll cartridge entirely from its nested housing.
Cut Away Tangled Hair and Threads:.
Inspect the brush roller thoroughly. Take a pair of scissors and carefully slide them along the groove of the roller to snip through tightly wound hair, pet fur, or strings. Unravel the debris and throw it away. Don't forget to check the black plastic end-caps and gears on both sides of the roller, as wrapped hair loves to hide there and lock up the bearing track.
Wipe out the Brush Chamber:.
Look inside the empty floor head chamber where the roller usually sits. Wipe away any wet clumps of dust or trapped debris from the suction channel intake.
Reassemble and Restart:.
Click the clean roller brush firmly back into its side gears, snap the protective window cover down until it clicks, and stand the vacuum upright. Turn the Sterra Beam back ON. The internal system will run a fresh diagnostic, detect that the brush can spin perfectly freely, and clear the voice prompt automatically.
What to Do If the Voice Prompt Persists
For nearly all users, snipping away the hair wraps completely clears the fault. However, if you have removed the roller, verified that it and the side gear tracks are spotlessly clean, and the "Please clean brushroll" voice prompt triggers again instantly when you turn it on, an internal electronic sensor may be experiencing a communication lag.
