Sterra Beam — Self-Cleaning Fails to StartUpdated 13 hours ago
The automated self-cleaning cycle is designed to flush out the internal tubes and spin-wash the roller brush so you don't have to do it manually. If you press the self-cleaning button and nothing happens (or the machine beeps and refuses to start), please be reassured that your device's software is not frozen.
To prevent internal flooding or an incomplete wash, the Sterra Beam’s smart processor will intentionally block the self-cleaning cycle if it detects that the battery is too low, the clean water tank is empty, or the dirty water tank is already full.
The Pre-Cleaning Checklist
To unlock and successfully start the self-cleaning cycle, your machine requires three quick physical checks. Please ensure these conditions are met before retrying:
Charge the Battery Above 10%:
Place your Sterra Beam securely onto its charging dock. The heavy-duty high-speed spinning and water flushing required during self-cleaning draws significant power. Ensure the battery display reads above 10% before pressing the button, as the cycle will not initiate on a drained battery.
Fill the Clean Water Tank:
Remove your Clean Water Tank and fill it up with fresh tap water. The self-cleaning system requires a high volume of pressurized clean water to thoroughly rinse out the internal suction lines and wash the roller brush.
Empty the Dirty Water Tank:
Take out the Dirty Water Tank and empty any wastewater down the drain. If the dirty tank is full—or even close to full—the machine will refuse to start the cycle to prevent wastewater from overflowing into the internal motor assembly.
Press and Hold to Begin:
With the clean tank full, the dirty tank completely empty, and the device docked with over 10% battery power, press the Self-Cleaning button on the handle. The machine will execute a fresh system check, verify all targets are met, and instantly launch the automated wash cycle.
What to Do If It Still Won't Start
If you have confirmed that your battery is well above 10%, your clean tank is completely full, your dirty tank is empty, and the machine is sitting perfectly flat on its charging dock, but the button still fails to trigger the cycle, the dock contacts or the handle button may be experiencing a minor communication block.
