Sterra Beam — Machine Does Not ChargeUpdated 13 hours ago
If you plug your Sterra Beam into its dock or charger and notice that it completely refuses to draw power or show a charging indicator, please be reassured that your device is likely not broken.
In almost all cases, this is caused by the Sterra Beam’s built-in High-Temperature Protection. Lithium-ion batteries naturally heat up during intensive floor cleaning. If you try to charge the battery immediately after an extended cleaning session while it is still hot, the smart internal safety sensors will intentionally block the electrical current. This prevents thermal stress, protects the battery's lifespan, and ensures absolute safety.
Recommended Recovery Protocol
To safely reset your device and restore normal charging, please follow these two maintenance steps:
Empty the Dirty Water Tank
Before leaving the machine to rest, remove and completely empty the Dirty Water Tank. If a wet vacuum sits uncharged for hours with dirty water inside, it can create stale odors and cause residual moisture to condense near the lower charging pins. Rinse the tank quickly and click it back into place.
Let the Battery Cool Completely Overnight
Unplug the charger or remove the Sterra Beam from its charging dock. Place the device in a cool, well-ventilated area out of direct sunlight and leave it alone until the next day. A severely heated battery core can take several hours to shed its internal thermal load and reset its safety chips.
Resume Charging
The following morning, place the Sterra Beam firmly back onto its charging dock or plug in the official power cord. The internal sensors will detect a perfectly cool battery baseline, clear the protection lock, and allow the machine to charge normally.
What to Do If It Still Won't Charge the Next Day
If you have left your Sterra Beam to cool down completely overnight, verified the dirty water tank is clean, and the machine still shows no charging lights when plugged into a working wall outlet the next day, the charging dock, power adapter, or battery cells may require professional attention.
