Sterra Beam — Leaves a Lot of Water on the FloorUpdated 13 hours ago

If your Sterra Beam is leaving large streaks or a pool of water on the floor, please try not to worry. Because this device actively sprays clean water to wash floors and vacuums it back up simultaneously, a puddle usually indicates a simple maintenance block or a loose seal rather than a cracked machine.

To resolve this quickly, the first step is to check if the water pooling on your floor is dirty (used cleaning water) or clean (fresh tank water).

If the Water is Dirty (Pooling around the Brush Head)

If the water on the floor is murky, or if you notice water bubbling out from the bottom brush cover, your Sterra Beam is experiencing poor suction. The machine is spraying water down, but it isn't able to pull it back up.

Please walk through this quick 3-step checklist:

Check the Dirty Water Tank:.

Look at your Dirty Water Tank. If the water has reached the MAX fill line, the built-in safety float switch will automatically shut off the vacuum's suction to prevent internal flooding. Remove the tank, empty it completely, rinse it out, and click it securely back into place.

Clear the Floor Brush Suction Mouth:.

Turn the machine off, flip it over, and remove the brush cover. Inspect the suction intake mouth right behind the roller. If a clump of wet hair, dust bunnies, or large debris is blocking this gap, the vacuum cannot suck up the water. Pull out any blockages and ensure the air path is completely clear.

Manage the Water Spray Mode:.

If your floor is already completely saturated, turn off the automatic water spray function temporarily using your handle controls. Run the Sterra Beam over the wet puddle using Suction Mode only to clear the remaining standing water from your floor.

If the Water is Clean (Pooling around the Wheels)

If the puddle consists of completely fresh, clean water and is dripping down around the back wheels, the issue is originating from your clean water supply line.

Please check the following two items:

  • Inspect the Bottom Valve Seal: Remove your Clean Water Tank and turn it upside down. Look at the rubber spring-valve at the bottom. Press it gently a couple of times with your finger to ensure it isn't stuck open or misaligned. If dust or mineral scale is caught in the valve, rinse it under running water to ensure a watertight seal.

  • Check for Tank Cracks: Fill the clean tank with water, dry the outside completely with a towel, and let it sit on a dry countertop for 5 minutes. If water pools on the counter, the tank itself has suffered a structural fracture and needs to be replaced.

Still Leaking?

If your Dirty Water Tank is empty, your suction path is completely clear of hair, your Clean Water Tank valve is tightly sealed, and the machine still releases massive puddles of water, an internal water line or connection ring may have slipped out of alignment.

📌 What to tell us: Let our agent know: "My Sterra Beam is leaving a lot of water on the floor. I have already cleared the brush mouth of clogs, emptied the dirty tank, and verified the clean tank valve isn't leaking, but it is still pooling water."
